Dover coating has been utilized by designers
at the American Plywood Institute, in their design of
a palletized box up to a 4'x4'x4' cube size, which when
combined with disposable polyethylene liner can be used
to transport liquids. The coating has been approved by
the USDA and the USFDA for incidental contact with food
enabling these boxes to be used in place of expensive
stainless steel tanks for transport of orange juice concentrates,
tomato paste and ketchup, as well as other produce and
food products. When emptied, the liner is disposed of
and the box collapses and stacks with others for a relatively
inexpensive return trip to the owner. The boxes are used
in the large 300 gallon size and a smaller box holding
200 gallons is also available. The boxes are used to transport
petroleum oils, vegetable oils, paints and other liquids
in the same manner.
